Thomas at 16 months

I can't believe it's been 16 months since Thomas was born.  He's now huge & looks like a little boy instead of a baby.  He's been swimming alot this summer, about three times a week with his friend Carlos at Murray Callan Swim School in Pacific Beach.  To see the full album, click one of the pictures.

Besides swimming he loves books and Thomas the Train.  He'll spend 20 minutes at a time sitting in his room pulling books down off his book case & thumbing through the pages.  One day he burried himself under a pile & was chattering away as he carefully 'read' each page.

One day we put a pair of Thomas the Train underwear on him.  He could turn and see the trains on his butt, but couldn't quite figure out how to look at them.  He went spinning around in circles trying to see the train on his butt, until we felt sorry for him & put his underwear on backwards so he could look down and see everything.

reading through thomas

Jason- I remember those days, when Daniel was just a tot and was equally infatuated with Thomas the Tank Engine. He memorized the trains' names as soon as he could talk, and we are thankful to Thomas for teaching him how to read. We had bought him some videotapes (remember those?) that mirrored the stories in his books. As we'd read them together and watch the video he figured it out. It was fun to watch. Enjoy your beautiful little boy!
