Alaska Cruise

Hungry Boy

We went on a 7 day cruise to Alaska with Amy's family in August. We had a great time and I've uploaded some of the best pictures from the cruise to my personal photo album.

Nike Women's Marathon

Almost to the end!!

I ran the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco with Amanda on Sunday October 22nd 2006. At 2:14 my time wasn't great, but the course sure was!

Amy was signed up to go before she got pregnant, but then wasn't able to train for the event. Since her and Amanda already had a hotel, I decided to go up and run with Amy's bib.

Let's talk Turkey

For our 10th wedding anniversary Amy and I spent about three weeks in Turkey and then flew to Belgium for Fifi and Jerome's wedding. From San Diego we flew first to Fort Worth, then to Zurich where we spent half a day wandering the city before our connecting flight to Istanbul. Once in Istanbul we spent five days wandering the old city (Sultanhemet) and saw amazing Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman ruins & palaces, The Grand Bazaar, did a short cruise of the Bosphorus (separating Asia from Europe), and wandered through many carpet/tile shops and museums. In Istanbul we stayed at the Hotel Valide Sultan Konagi. The owner Janine Taranto treated us to an extensive personalized guided walking tour. Janine and her staff are extremely friendly, the location of their hotel couldn?t be better and their roof-top restaurant offers amazing views of the Bosphorous, European and Asian sides of the City. After Istanbul we flew to the coastal city of Fethiye along Turkey's Mediterranean coast where we caught a Gullet (a traditional Turkish wooden sailing boat) and motor-sailed up the Aegean through Blue Cruise. We spent three days & four nights cruising, swimming, eating and having the most relaxing time. We finally ended up in Marmaris where we rented a car.
